HELPING CUSTOMIZERS' DREAMS COME TRUE WITHOUT ALL THE HASSLE...
You want the right clothing for your custom figures or diorama but have neither the time nor desire to spend hours searching the internet or scouring through bins and booths at shows. Perhaps the vintage item you seek is rare or unavailable and you'd like a reproduction instead. Perhaps you want to create something totally new or to recapture days gone by. You want to work with an artist to bring the dream in your mind to fruition.
One of the things I enjoy most is the collaborative process of working with clients to design unique, quality hand-crafted clothing for their collectible pose-able action figures and fashion dolls including GI Joe, Action Man, Six Million Dollar Man, ERTL, WWE, Dragon, Barbie and more. I primarily work with 1:6 scale but can work with others. I make everything myself. Nothing is mass produced. It's an honor to have my work featured in collections and dioramas throughout the country and to work with clients who take their figure design as seriously as I take my work.
Thank you so much to Jeff Sherer and his Skunk Works YouTube channel for use of his video!
I'm so glad you're interested in working with me to design a special creation for your project. Here's how the process typically works:
- You may have seen my work either on this website, a show, blog or even in a friend's home. Regardless, you're interested and you want to know more.
- You're thinking of that perfect place in your collection for that special outfit or accessory. Perhaps it's a rare vintage item that you want reproduced or maybe it's something totally new. As long as the raw materials are available I will do my best to create it. Or perhaps, you have an item that just needs a little tweaking. I can do alterations and repairs when matching fabric is available.
- It's important for my clients to have a clear idea of what features they want in their items. Reference photos are helpful. Additionally, I can make reproductions from provided, not-so-good-condition, vintage pieces.
- Once I understand what your desires and investment level are, I am them able to design a prototype. In addition, I might also have something in my current inventory that would suit your needs, or that I could customize to your specific requirements.
- Once we've reached a consensus on the design and time frame for the project is approved, a 50% non-refundable deposit is submitted by the client and I begin work on the prototype. When it is completed, I photograph it and email it to you for approval. Any desired tweaks will be made and the photographs are emailed to you again for approval. More than two revisions may incur additional charges to cover the additional time. Once the prototype is finalized I begin work on the actual item.
- Throughout the project, I provide photos along the way for feedback and let you know how it's going. Once I'm done, I photograph the completed piece and email it to you for your approval.
- Finally, the final payment is received and I ship to you.
REVIEWS
"Outstanding craftsmanship! Kathy made several things for me over the past few years. My favorite are the waitress outfits. I couldn't find anything close to what I needed. I pulled a few pictures together and told her what I wanted. Before I knew it, Kathy had created these incredible one of a kind outfits. They really enhanced the look of the diner I made. Thank you Kathy!!!! You rock!!!" - Mike Gardner, 1/6 Scale Dioramas of any kind
